Know your emotional capacity!

As a prophet and discerner, I have to be very careful of what I read, watch, and listen to because I can’t just shake things off like most people do. It gets into my spirit, my thoughts, my dreams, and my emotions.

It’s not uncommon for me to read an article and weep uncontrollably as a result because I can sense and feel the grief and trauma. Not to mention, I spent nearly a decade advocating for and counseling survivors of domestic and sexual violence so stories of trauma literally consumed me.

This week has been emotionally draining for me—Kobe & GiGi Bryant crash, impeachment trial, earthquakes, coronavirus, local deaths and murders, news articles of murderded and sexually exploited children—it’s A LOT!!!

I did not guard my gates well and as a result I got bombarded spiritually and emotionally. I’m learning that my emotional capacity for certain things is limited and I must honor that. I can’t read every news story. I can’t watch every video clip. I just can’t.

If you’re prophetic, an intercessor, discerner, or just spiritually sensitive, please learn your limits. We are called to bare spiritual burdens but not every burden is from the Lord and not every burden is yours to bare. This too is self-care.

Here is a great teaching by Dr. Faith Wokoma on how to handle spiritual pressure such as what I have described in this post.

Discerning the Heart of the Father ♥️

One of the biggest struggles for believers is discerning
what’s from God and what’s not. One way to discern if something you hear or feel is of God is to ask yourself, “Would a good father do this to their child?” God treats us as his beloved children, not as slaves or puppets. His motivation is always love, not fear or intimidation.

The other night I couldn’t sleep because my mind was racing and I felt anxious. So I got up and thought, “maybe God wants me to pray?” That has to be the reason why I can’t sleep, right?

The Holy Spirit immediately challenged this mindset and said, “Ghia, would you mentally afflict your children in order to make them talk to you? If God wants you to pray, he will just ask you to because he’s a good father.” #MindBlown

I then knew that what I was experiencing was not from God and I began to bind up fear and anxiety and loose peace. I immediately felt relief! If I hadn’t listened to the Holy Spirit, I would’ve prayed and went back to bed bound thinking I had obeyed God.

A lot of what we think is God isn’t. Just like in the garden and with the temptation of Jesus, the enemy will try and get us to obey him by twisting the word of God or misconstruing our view of God. This is why you NEED the Holy Spirit, he will always lead you in the way of TRUTH!!!

I pray that you will discern the heart and voice of the father and be free from the burden of legalism, religion, perfectionism, and oppression. May you walk in absolute liberty and authentic love and serve God and his people from that place.

The Truth About Manifestation

Happy New Year!!!

Can I impart a little wisdom? Be careful not to use lingo because it’s popular or catchy. One example being “MANIFEST”.

We are all created in the image of God so we have the power to create (whether we serve God or not) but, trust me, you don’t want to manifest anything that God hasn’t authorized. It’s illegal and leaves you open for the thief to steal, kill or destroy. And let’s not forget, the enemy (the prince of this world; John 14:30) can give us stuff and make us think we did it ourselves. #Selah

Yes, we need faith and works but our faith must be in God and not our own ability. If we are real, much of our desire to manifest things on our own has to do with our lack of faith and/or our lack of patience.

If you want what you are believing God for to be a blessing and not a curse, wait on the Lord and be of good courage (Psalm 27:14)! Again I say, WAIT!!! What HE has promised, he will perform!!!

“ I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.” (Psalm 130:5)

It’s 2020!!! Happy New Year!!! 🥳🎉🎊

I am declaring that you will have perfected (20/20) vision in the realm of the spirit in this new year—the ability to see a thing and bring it to fruition! No more blindness or spiritual cataract (blurred vision). I pray that God would open the eyes of your heart so that you may see HIS glory at work in your life! May you have good health, wisdom & prosperity. Happy New Year & Happy New You!
