Hey there! 👋👋👋
If you have ever watched me on Periscope or seen my posts on Facebook, you know that I speak often about "uncommon favor". I can't remember when God spoke these words to me but they have been in my spirit ever since. What distinguishes "favor" from "uncommon favor" is that the latter is not something that happens often...it's extraordinary...it's above and beyond the favor that we are accustomed to receiving.
Here's an excerpt from a 2012 article on Uncommon Favor...
"Uncommon means unusual; remarkably great. Favor is the special affection of God toward you that releases an influence on you, so that others are inclined to like you, or to cooperate with you. The favor of God is what determines the limits of every man’s destiny. Once you are favored, you are made. Favor is the mother of destiny. Favor is what converts labor into fortune. It enhances the value of your labor. Apostle Paul said, I am what I am by the grace of God. The limit of your destiny is defined by the level of favor operating in your life." I believe that uncommon favor is the result of uncommon faith! As believers, we all can receive favor from God but it's proportionate to our level of faith. Simply put, you can't expect a mansion when you only have apartment level faith. I have personally started to elevate my faith and pray for the miraculous. Could it be that we don't see the same types of miracles they saw in the bible because we limit God with our faith? In Matthew 13:58, it states that Jesus was unable to perform many miracles in his hometown. This was not because he lacked the ability but because they lacked the faith. Wow! 😮
What have you not received because you refuse to step out of your comfort zone? Like Peter, we have to step out of the boat in faith. Keep your eyes on Jesus and walk on the water! Don't limit God based on past failures or the experiences of others. Ephesians 3:20 says, "Now to Him, who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or thing, according to the power that works in us." It's all about what's working on the inside of you!
I hope that something I've said in this post has made you re-evaluate your faith. I want you to stop boxing God in and allow him to release his uncommon favor in your life. Raise your level of expectation! I pray that God will literally blow your mind in this next season of your life! And remember the words of Jesus in Mark 9:23, "Everything is possible for one who believes." Dare to believe!
