Love Wins!

Hey ya'll! It's been about a month since my last post and soooooo much has happened not only in my in our country. Where do I start? Do I start with the Emmanuel AME church shooting that occurred while I was in Charleston and proved to the world that racism still exists? Or how about the ISIS massacre in Tunisia that took the lives of so many innocent people? Oh, and we can't overlook the Supreme Court's recent ruling on same sex marriage that caused the CHURCH to be more divided than the world?

With all that has transpired, I found myself being so consumed with the world's hatred that I almost forgot the power of God's love. That's the only thing that can truly heal our land...the love of God! I know from the title you thought this post would be solely about the same sex ruling but the concept of "love winning" originated long before this same sex marriage conversation ever began. Love won at Calvary about 2,000 years ago and is still winning today!

When I speak about love, I speak about God for God is love. There is no love apart from GodTo limit love to that which is shared between two humans is an insult. Human love is beautiful but it's flawed and has it's limits. Many of us looked for love in relationships and ended up frustrated because we were expecting man to love us like God. God's love (agape) is the only love that is truly selfless and unconditional. God's love is perfect. It was God's love that fueled Christ's death and resurrection. Human love doesn't know that kind of sacrifice! The capacity and reach of God's love is a phenomenon that can't be rationalized but must be experienced.

Love wins! Despite all of the racism, hatred, perversion, and division that exists LOVE STILL WINS! Love not only covers sin but it conquers sin. I am believing for the love of God to be released in the earth like never before. We can't allow the current events to be a distraction or make us doubt God's love for us. John 3:16 tell us, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever shall believe in him will not perish but have everlasting life," God's love wins!
